This policy explains what personal information Anointed Books collects, why we collect it, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It applies to anointedbooks.digital and to everything we sell or provide through it.
The short version: we collect the least we can, we use it to deliver what you asked for and to stay in touch when you have told us we may, and we do not sell it.
1. Information you give us
- When you buy something. Your name, email address, and billing details. Payment card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor — we never see or store your full card number.
- When you request a free reading. Your name, email address, and phone number, together with your consent to be contacted by email and text message.
- When you contact us. Your name, email address, and whatever you choose to write in your message.
- When you commission work. The information needed to scope and complete the project, which may include manuscripts, recordings, notes, and teaching materials you send us.
2. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring page. This is used for security and to understand which pages are useful. See our Cookie Policy for how cookies and similar technologies are used.
3. Why we use your information
- To deliver the title, tool, or service you purchased or requested;
- To process payment and confirm your purchase;
- To send you the emails and text messages you consented to receive;
- To answer your questions and provide support;
- To scope, produce, and deliver commissioned work;
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraud and unauthorised distribution of our titles;
- To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
4. We do not sell your information
Anointed Books does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who need it to make the site work, and only for that purpose:
- Stripe — payment processing;
- Our hosting provider — serving the website;
- Email and messaging providers — sending the messages you asked for;
- Legal and accounting advisers — where required.
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, or lawful request, or where necessary to establish or defend legal claims, including claims of copyright infringement.
6. Email and text messages
If you asked for a free reading, you consented to email and text contact from us. Every email contains an unsubscribe link. Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving them. Message and data rates may apply. We will always send you the transactional messages needed to deliver something you purchased, even if you have opted out of marketing.
7. Commissioned work and confidentiality
Material you send us for a ghostwriting, curriculum, or licensing project is treated as confidential. We do not publish it, quote it, or reuse it in other projects. Ghostwritten works are yours; we do not claim authorship of them or list you as a client without your permission.
8. How long we keep it
We keep purchase records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. Contact details for marketing are kept until you withdraw consent. Enquiry messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve them. Commissioned project materials are kept for the duration of the project and a reasonable period afterwards, or deleted earlier on request.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is wrong;
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it;
- Stop sending you marketing emails or text messages.
Make any of these requests through the contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, or the GDPR. We honour those rights regardless of where you live, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
11. Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International visitors
Anointed Books operates from the United States. If you access the site from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection law may differ from that of your country.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be noted on the site.
